Copyright Laws

Copyright laws are very important to understand in the college setting. So much information is available with a quick internet search, so students need to understand what that means for their coursework. Did you know that copyright laws apply to not only books, magazines, and online articles, but it also applies to music, photos, blogs, movies, etc. Familiarize yourself with these laws so that you don’t find yourself in violation of copyright laws. Information regarding Copyright Laws and The Digital Millennium Copyright Act can be found through the SVCC Library or on the web https://www.copyright.gov. Additionally, SVCC enforces the Virginia Community College System policy, Information Technology Student/Patron Acceptable Use Agreement, which also addresses Copyright laws.
